About

I am a Freelance Composer, with a Masters Degree in Music (Composition) and a BA Honours Degree in Music and Film Studies, accompanied with years of experience composing for short films, theatre productions, websites and blogs.

Music has always been my passion, and I have played with a number of ensembles over the years, including the role as lead guitarist in York based rock band Gleam of Dawn, as well as a slightly different group; Hull University Big Band, with whom I performed for two years running, most memorably at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2009.

As well as performing, I have been playing guitar for 9 years, mostly self taught. At the moment I have two clients for whom I teach Electric and Classical Guitar professionally between my studies, and am always willing to teach others who are enthusiastic and eager to learn.

However, my favourite aspect of Music is the composing side, for which I have had a wide range of experience. I have written for bands, websites, blogs and theatre productions, and have undertaken the role as Musical Director for 4 theatre performances, including a full soundtrack to adaptations of Romeo and Juliet and Othello, performed by the Hull University Drama Society in 2010/11.

I have also worked with Panopticon Films, a Hull based company producing short films such as The Stranger, winner of Bradfords 48 Hour Film Festival.

This is only a segment of my Musical experiences, and using years of musical experience and up to date technology and software, I believe I have what it takes to write the music to cater for your every need!

Im now offering a session musician (Piano/Guitar) service at weddings and other events in the Yorkshire area; if youre looking for bespoke music for your special day, or a performance of pieces of your choice then get in touch to discuss rates!
